THE DIGITAL HAPTIC
workshop by Sander Wassink
A disadvantage of the digital world is the lack of a haptic experience. We do believe the haptic experience can be enriched, for instance by experimenting with different appearances like sounds and digital textures.
Touch is a way to experience textures, but it’s difficult to experience that sensation digitally. That’s why we’ve translated textures to sound. You may not be able to touch the texture, but you can hear it in The Digital Haptic.
By choosing a sound, the digital object is automatically texturized. This gives the object a new identity which uses his advanced beauty to shine in the digital world.
